Matt Desbarbieux was born and raised in Port Hope, Ontario. He left for two years to study Heritage Carpentry and Millwork at Algonquin College in the heritage town of Perth, Ontario. There he learned many new skills in woodworking and restoration, door and window construction, timber and log home building, and advanced new home construction techniques. Upon graduating, Matt came back home to Port Hope and immediately started working with a local company specializing in heritage restoration, additions and custom living spaces in new and old homes. During this time, Matt focused on building his skill set and furthering his education as much as possible. Focusing on the finer side of the trade, he has become adept at custom cabinetry and furniture, vanities and kitchens, trimwork and restoration both inside and outside of the home. Matt holds an inter-provincial Red Seal license in Cabinetmaking as well as General Carpentry. Matt has 20+ years of experience in the industry.
Rachael Hinman was raised in Cobourg, Ontario. Upon graduating high school, Rachael attended Fanshawe College and studied Interior Design for three years. Rachael studied in many areas of interior design including drafting, architectural elements, colours, 3D rendering, lighting, technical drawings, and space planning. When Rachael graduated, she worked for different design firms before becoming a full time kitchen and bath designer. Rachael has furthered her skill set and knowledge by completing numerous courses through the National Kitchen and Bath Association. Rachael completed her training through the NKBA and received her AKBD in 2018, and is currently working towards her CKBD. Rachael has 20+ years of experience as an interior designer.
